Phor Plai Kaew is a 55-year-old male elephant who was rescued from a logging camp in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. His previous owner learned that our sanctuary is a genuine elephant conservation center dedicated to providing proper care for aging elephants. With this trust, he was entrusted to us so he could spend the rest of his life in a safe, peaceful, and compassionate environment.
After years of hard labor pulling heavy logs, Phor Plai Kaew carries several marks that tell the story of his past struggles. Despite these hardships, he remains gentle and resilient, adapting well to his new life of comfort and care at the sanctuary.
*Multiple lumps along his body, caused by years of pulling logs
*Shortened tail, due to being bitten by another male elephant during mating season
